Finding Peace In God

In this passage of scripture the prophet Elijah was searching for peace from within. Elijah in chapter 18th had just demonstrated the power of God by calling fire down from heaven, killing the 450 false prophets Baal.
However, what he failed to realize is the Devil is not of afraid of the power of God but he is terrified of the presence of God.

There is a difference between the power and the presence. All too often we dwell looking for the power of God to fix us and our situations and when it is not given or doesn’t show up then we are lost.

Jezebel didn’t turn tail and run but she dug in even more threatening to kill Elijah because of what he had done. The Devil is not afraid of the power of God he is terrified of the presence of God.

When we plead the blood of Jesus it doesn’t bring the power but it evokes his presence and his power to do battle on our behalf. Elijah realizes that he in his power has failed so he flees. He asked God to kill him because he realized in his power he was nothing. But this is where God’s wants us. He wants us to understand that we can’t fix it or fix us.

So God begins to feed Elijah…And he wants to feed us his word. He knows the more we feed on Him the stronger his presence becomes in us. Elijah gains peace when he learns to listen for God’s voice then to seek his power.

It is in God’s small still voice that victory and peace is waiting for you.

Jesus said my sheep know my voice!

If you need peace today listen for your answer of hope and strength by following the voice of God and stop looking for the power.

If you are searching for something good to listen too?

Not Of This World

Wow what depth in this quote.  However, sadly to say this is true. We the church in some cases have lowered the bar of scripture.  I hear the phrase, “It doesn’t take all that to walk with God.” But if we are to have real intimacy with God then we must realize holiness is required.

We must forsake the sinful things of this world.

1John 2:15-17 says, “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

I John 2:15‭-‬17 NKJ

So Christians there must be a quick break up with the world so we can find our true love, “JesusChrist.”  Christianity is a lifestyle and life changinging journey.  When we accept Jesus Christ as our Saviour and Lord we are saved at that moment.

However, this is when the work of a true love relationship begins.  We have confessed our love and devotion to Jesus now we must show action of a true love relationship with him.  Talk is cheap.

What Does A True Love Relationship Look Like?

Well, Jesus said to us, “If you love me, then keep my commandments.”  I love this.  Jesus didn’t ask us to be perfect but he asked us to make a concious effort to live according to his word.  So many people believe that the Christians have to live a life of perfection…wrong!

Jesus understands that we will never be perfect here on earth.  Jesus understands that we need grace but he also understands that we can live according to his standards.  Jesus wants us to make a real effort not to commit sin.

It amazes me how many people can be committed to what they want but when it comes to Jesus they say, “Well no ones perfect, God knows my heart.”

Yes, God knows that we are not perfect and he also knows if we are not truly committed to live life according to his will then we won’t be successful.

We must accept this fact, “We are not of this world.” We are Believer’s.  The Bible says that everyone that has confessed Jesus Christ as Lord is saved and not of this world.

Lord Make Me Over

Change Starts With You

God make me over? This question I believe can be a clarion call for most Believer’s in Christ. It is this type question we ask God when we truly see who and what we really are.

The Prophet Isaiah said it like this in chapter 6 of Isaiah:

So I said: “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The Lord of hosts.”
Isaiah 6:5 NKJV

Isaiah saw who he really was on the inside. He looked at God and then with a pure and holy eye looked at himself and came to the conclusion that he was nowhere near that man he thought he was.

I believe God’s work must first start within if we are to be effective in other areas of our lives.  I think that this is an universal principle.  Whether you are in church, at home or at work change must start within in order to impact your surroundings. We must practice what the scripture says, “Pick up our cross and follow Jesus.”

I believe that God wants us to start his work with us.  Oftentimes, we are looking to change our Spouses, Neighbors, Family Members, Communities and the World.  However, I believe the greatest change must start in the mirror.

The greatest opportunity for change and progress is you.  Yes, you are your greatest opportunity for progress in and out of your life.  If we want to light up the world we must first become a beacon of light.

It is ashame to see someone trying to spread happiness and they are not happy themselves. When you look at them you can see that they are so bitter, mean and angry.  Have you ever witnessed someone in the service sector with a nasty attitude?  It really dampens the experience doesn’t it?

You may say to yourself, “Maybe, you would do better becoming a lemon salesman because you suck at customer service.”

It is the same with us. We must be the change that we want others to become.  The greatest thing about changing ourselves is that, if anyone else doesn’t follow its okay.  You are your greatest priority apart from God.

We can’t become good friends, spouses, employees or servants if we are not willing to put in the time becoming and being those things we want to see in others.

If we want to preach godliness we must practice godliness in secret and in the open we won’t have to pretend.  We would just be godly because we have put in the time to change.

So be the change you would like the world to see.

Because You Are Worth It

We must always remember in those times when the enemy tries to make us feel worthless….Just look to the cross and see how much we are valued.

Philippians 2:5-8, says let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and  coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the  point  of death, even the death of the cross.

Our value is not found in our accomplishments, our status, our race, our relationships nor our education.  But the true worth of God’s people is found in the one place, a place where many people run from and that place is in Jesus.

What makes the believer valuable is the God within.  What made man valuable was not the beauty of the creation but it was the breath (Ruach) of the Creator.

Ruach is a Hebrew word that means  breath, wind, Spirit.  When God put his ruach (roo’-akh) into man, then man became valuable.

I want to encourage you today to know that you are valuable and highly sought after by God.  So the next time the Devil lies to you and says, “You are not valuable.” Just look, smile and point him to the cross.

Jesus loved us so much that he died that we might live.  So accept Him as your personal Savior and Lord.  Choose life.

Leadership Principle #2

Leaders Plug In

Just imagine you are ready to deliver the most important presentation of your life.  You know that when you deliver this PowerPoint the boss will definitely take notice of you. The boss will have you in mind for that promotion.

However, you are standing in front of your CEO, SES or Manager (whoever can make the magic happen) and you go to deliver your presentation only to discover that your projector is not plugged in.

This is how we are with God at times.  God is looking for us to do great things for the kingdom of God but when it comes time for us to present him…well we are just not plugged in.

Take Time To Charge Your Batteries

I believe in order to be an effective leader we must plug into prayer, praise and worship before we do anything.  A person that goes without God is truly walking blindly an are running off of their battery reserves.

The Bible says in Psalms 119:130, “The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.”

We must allow the power of God to enter out hearts like electricity enters your favorite labtop or computer.

Jesus Must Be “The” Power Source

Make quiet time with God your #1 priority.

Leaders must value the charging period with God because it is the time where they will be empowered. Don’t put off the charging period in order to do your own thing.

Someone is saying, “Well I am not a leader, so charging my spiritual power source is not necessary.” Well, I want to tell you that yes you are a leader even if it is only leading yourself.

It is so important for every person to have that time with God growing and being empowered. God is the lifeline to the success of every believer. It is imperative that we not forsake that time being plugged into the Master.

Making An Impact Podcast, Episode 1 Seizing Your Opportunity

Have you ever found yourself missing out because of fear, doubt or unbelief? I truly believe we miss out on God size opportunities. Hey check out this weekly podcast, “Making An Impact. I hope it will be a blessing to you . The Bible says, “Iron sharpens iron.”

Be blessed fam. P.S please comment it would be great to know your thoughts.

God’s Got “It.”

No matter what that “It” is, God’s got “It.”  We spend so much time looking for that thing that will bring us perpetual happiness that we miss God. God is trying to lead us into greener pastures but we are so infatuated with doing our own thing that we become blinded and lose our way.

God is where we will find a fulfilling and lasting connection.  He will “scratch that itch.”

This is why we must spend time seeking Him daily. Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

We must make the kingdom of God first priority in our lives and those other things will be apart of the plan.

We must make God our yes.  When God is our yes and amen then he will know he is first in our lives. Why would God gives us more then we can handle? Why would our loving God bless us with treasures, when he knows we are only going to make idols of them?

Our walk with God is important and it reveals alot about us. If we only walk with God when we are in trouble then this behavior reveals a one sided relationship. If we walk with God through the thick and the thin then this behavior reveals that you are a Christian that, comes “Hell or High Water” God is your “Yes and Amen.”

Hey, if you like what you are reading “like it”, “share it.” Let’s build the kingdom of God together. Be blessed.
