Your Date Must Be Qualified Not Just Cute

Relationships are extremely important. Believe it or not choosing a partner will arguably be one of the most important decisions of your life.

It amazes me how we can be so focused on money, clothes and carreers and totally be disengaged with the quality of our souls and who we choose to live in our space.

Just because she is beautiful doesn’t make her qualified to walk with you.  Just because he is handsome shouldn’t give him the key to your heart.

 You must be qualified!

Treat dating and choosing a partner like finding your dream job.  Don’t be afraid to ask the hard questions upfront.

Keep this in mind? Who you allow in your space will impact your life.

But what do I know? It’s is only your life we’re talking about right? 😉

My husband is my partner, not my owner

Hmmm…Should I or shouldn’t I repost this post went through my mind. This is a controversial subject in some households and in some relationships.

You are not the boss of me! This statement is echoed through some homes in this world. However,if we never learn that marriage and relationships should be filled with partnership then we will fail all the time. Great post.

This short podcast talks about taking ownership for the mistakes and gains that we have made in our lives.

We can’t grow or go to the next level until we are ready to own the level we are on first.

Enjoy and be blessed.

A Deeper Reflection

Hmm… “What is my assignment God?” While listening to Marvin Sapp crooning in my ears…  Am I doing what you desire?  Praying, while reflecting…

Have you ever had this conversation with God?  There is so much in this world that is not right but God is right…

Serving Him is my privilege… (As my heart is overwhelmed by His presence)…  It is something when God isolates you and shows you your frailties, your inadequacies, your inconsistencies all within a moment of time.

“God overflow in my heart that I might become the man that you desire?”  As people pass by the window, I am sitting in front of I realize I no longer notice them (they have become just mere images  passing by).  Sitting in a crowded restaurant feeling as if it is God and I.

Have you ever had this moment?  God just wants your attention…How funny it is today…Had a 2hr lunch break forced upon me and though I am in crowded spaces, He and I are all alone.

I am in deeper reflection.  It is a deep soul reflection…”God is my life pleasing to you?’ Help me to truly discover my assignment in this life?”

I guess that message I heard at church yesterday really impacted my life, “I am on assignment.” Do you ever think about your assignment?

Walking…Deeper reflection. You can do alot of work in the Church (the institution); however, am I truly walking in my calling, fulfilling my purpose…effectively caring out my godly assignment?

Have you ever thought about these things? God helps me to recognize my limitations and also my hearts desires.

So I am nearing the end of my lunch as I am reflecting deeper…God I want to behold your face and live a deeper and more consistent life. I want to be a better man, husband and father…

A deeper, greater reflection in God. Have you ever had this conversation with God? Wow what a forced 2hrs… Or maybe a divine encounter….

Isaiah 6:1-5,

In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke. Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.

We will never know when God will allow us to have an encounter with His holiness. But we should always be seeking to be in His presence. Wow what a deeper reflection.

Have you ever had this conversation with God?

If Not Now…When

Why wait to remove the dirt that is blocking your road in life? Start your removal today.  What is it that is blocking your growth, success, peace and tranquillity? Fix your focus on that thing today that is causing you difficulties and start shoveling.

Start preparing the road for your destiny!

Tomorrow is in no ways promised, so do all you can do today…  Call that relative, spouse, friend, co-worker and fix that relationship.  If not now then when? Oh when you get your head in the game? When you get your life together? When they become nicer and more responsible?

I am sorry this is not a winning plan for success. This approach will more likely set you up for failure. Who told you that you had one last phone call? Who told you that you had time to mend your broken relationships? Who told you that she would be waiting for you? Who told you that he would always be there?

I have seen men and women who have lost out on love because they kept looking at the spouse they wanted tomorrow and passed on that spouse of today. I have seen people pass up on promotions because they thought tomorrows promotion would be better then today’s and they didn’t get another opportunity until 5 years later.

Master Today’s Possibilities

If we can’t handle the horse today, what makes us think we will be able to ride the bull tomorrow.

The longer we wait to embrace today, the further we get from making any real progress. Tomorrow will always be filled with possibilities and unrealized and untapped potential…However, what good will that do us today? So the question must be, “If not now then when?”

Enjoy your reward today!

Begin to look today sqaure in the eyes and say, “I am going to make some progress today.

Depression you had me yesterday but today I am getting out of this bed, combing my hair, shaving my face and putting on my clothes and motivating myself to win.

You may have suffered disappointments but that doesn’t give you a reason to quit, it just provides you with more time to plan.

We all have challenges and frustrations.

You my not have done well on your test yesterday but we must take the mindset that,  “I have a date with the library today” instead of saying, “Well I guess I will have better luck next time.” NO put that car in gear and drive it…

We may have spoken to our spouses harshly on yesterday but we must become proactive, praying for more patience, humility and ask them for forgiveness and then put into practice Christ-like love today.

Today, today, today.

Since God has given you today make something  of it… even if it is only making a walk way at least that’s a sign of progress.

Someone may say, ” I am disabled and I can’t move…”  Well if you are reading this post then you can think and within your sphere God has given you too grace to win…maybe in a different way but you can be a force today as well.

Please “But” Out

Things will happen and apologies will be needed.  However, if we negate our apologies with a “But I”…we may lose the heart of the person we are trying to soften…

So please don’t stick your “But I” in with your apology. Man up or Woman up, humble yourselves and, suck it up.  Give the apology and take the heat.

This way your “but” won’t cause you to get stuck and the heart of the offended can be softened.

It can come across to the person that has been offended by us that we are not genuine and are just saying words. So we must be considerate and not negate the very apology that we are trying to give.

Harvest Time?

There is a season for all things under the sun.  However, the trick is making it count when it is your time.  Some people pull up when they should be planting, Some people play when they should be watering, some sleep when they should be working.

It is imperative that we work hard in the right season so when growth begins to happen…watchout it’s harvest time.

Jesus commands us to work while it is still day, for the night comes when no man can work. And we need to take advantage of our fields before it is too late.

You know? It is easy to sit by while someone else is doing all the work…However, Jesus declares to us that there will be a day where the lazy will reap what they sow and the diligent will reap what they sow.

So know this, though you haven’t yet experienced the harvest do the work and wait for the rain because soon the vision will speak.  It will be tragic when the rain comes but we aren’t prepared to reap the harvest.
