Your Date Must Be Qualified Not Just Cute

Relationships are extremely important. Believe it or not choosing a partner will arguably be one of the most important decisions of your life.

It amazes me how we can be so focused on money, clothes and carreers and totally be disengaged with the quality of our souls and who we choose to live in our space.

Just because she is beautiful doesn’t make her qualified to walk with you.  Just because he is handsome shouldn’t give him the key to your heart.

 You must be qualified!

Treat dating and choosing a partner like finding your dream job.  Don’t be afraid to ask the hard questions upfront.

Keep this in mind? Who you allow in your space will impact your life.

But what do I know? It’s is only your life we’re talking about right? 😉

The Patient Pursuit – Guest post by Michaela

I love that there are people still saving themselves for marriage. This is diffently a topic that I will be podcasting on in the near future. God stills captives the heart and infuses his will in the lives of two lover’s that will not partake of the forbidden fruit before it’s time. Great article.

Mi Amor

I went, She went,

To a place, a destination prepared just for us to meet,

Though I never knew her,

She went, a college student sent,

Planted by God, on a mission to shine,

I went, escaping the madness of life to a place of calm and solace,

I finally had my own, a place to call home,

Chosen were we,

I found my calm on a snowy February day in blizzard like conditions,

Knee high up to my thigh in snow,

But not even a blizzard could hold me back from my place of destiny,

Short in stature, beautiful jet black hair down her back, smile that could replace the sun,

Rolled into the place of destiny around about December, you see!

She arrived 2 months earlier than me,
I said, “this had to be destiny”, she lived three floors above me!

She never knew my name, never thought one time that destiny had chosen her to be,

But I understood the time was now,

If I was going to wake up to sun shine for the rest of my life,

I had to do something, I’ve never done,

I had to say something, I’ve never said,

When God presented me with a shot,

I went, She went,

We went together!

5 Helpful Valentines Day Do’s and Don’ts to Safely Guide You Through The Holiday

image

5 things you should do and not do on this Valentines Day.Whether you are single or married these 5 helpful hints can keep you out of the dog house or the litter box whichever you prefer.

1. Don’t procrastinate:

OMG…This is one of the deadly sins of V-Day(Valentines Day). I will call this the first and most dangerous of the five Do’s and Don’ts of Valentines Day, procrastination . When we procrastinate this says to our spouse or significant other, “you are not important enough to me.” Also, it communicates a very clear message, I am too lazy to care enough about you to take the time to plan.
I have discovered in my experiences with procrastination “You snooze, you lose and the early bird gets the worm”.
When we procrastinate we set ourselves up for failure and also bad gift purchases.

Honey Happy Valentine’s Day. Do you like your new microwave I got it on sale? What!

2. Don’t make excuses actually plan something.

Nothing says romance like planning. Creativity on Valentines Day can give you major points with your significant other. This is something I learned from my wife…Babe if you are reading this, see I am listening… Lol.
Oftentimes, this tends to happen with married couples or people who have been together for awhile. We can take each other for granted and stop putting in the work that won the heart of your significant other. We just stop planning and take on this anything goes mentality that will surely land us in the dog house or litter box on Valentines day.
Do actually take time to plan something on Valentines Day and leave the excuses behind…well the dog ate the chocolate… You know Lady Fuzzy clawed my cards and they were nice too. Oh man I really love this excuse some people settle for it all the time. Notice I didn’t say, “fall for it.” Valentines Day is a commercial holiday, they only want your money. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah…are you tired yet, because I am worn out listening to that lame excuse. Haha.. Well if you think the stores want your money, your spouse or significant other wants to be pampered too. So don’t worry so much about the commercial holiday put your energy into making your spouse or your significant other happy. Nothing says turn off like excuses.

3. Don’t contact an Ex to keep you company.

Why rekindle a flame only to start a forest fire? You guys are exes for a reason right? “Desperate times calls for desperate measure.” What am I saying here? I am saying that as a single you may get lonely on Valentines Day, but compromising your self worth is a heavy price to pay anytime but especially for a day. So be smart and resist the temptation to indulge in an activity you will soon regret.
However, Do indulge. When you are feeling lonely and desperate get you a good desert. Yes I said it! Nothing relaxes the mind like a good desert, good book, great movie and friends without benefits. Don’t put yourself in a position to lose. Do indulge in a guilty pleasure though, a little or a lot of hot apple pie and ice cream. Do you know what the benefits will be to having not sold out? You won’t feel guilty or used in the morning but you will feel full…Lol…

Whats a few pounds compared to a lifetime of pain?

4. Don’t break the bank spend your money wisely.

No one likes a cheapskate but a Frugal Fanny or a Thrifty Tyrone is Okay. I believe the key to finding a good gift on Valentines Day is not spending a mint but spending time getting to know the person you are buying for. This will help you in the long run.
What if we have just start seeing each other? Good question…Just play it safe. Keep your gift purchases to a minimum, something like $50.00 or $60.00, you can’t go wrong there; furthmore, that’s enough to get you a card, flowers and dinner without sending the wrong message.
But Don’t be scared to spend some money. No one likes a cheapskate or a freeloader. So be prepared to show her a nice time but don’t break the bank it is only one day.

5. Don’t forget to celebrate you.

image

What am I saying here? I am saying, “Don’t let life define you, you define it.” Don’t sit by the phone waiting for it to ring, waiting on some person to validate you. No! Celebrate you regardless of who calls your phone or doesn’t call your phone. Love yourself! Know your worth! Unfortunately, during this Valentines Day season we can easily forget our worth all in the name of convenience and compromise. But this Valentines Day purpose in your heart and mind, that you will not allow yourself to be used or abused but you will be celebrated. You may be alone but learn to celebrate you. God has invested too much into you for you to live in depression and desperation all because of one day. Celebrate you because God made you fearfully and wonderfully in His image and His likeness. Know that you are powerful, strong, smart and you are valuable.
So on this Valentines Day: don’t procrastinate, don’t make excuses actually plan something, don’t contact an Ex to keep you company, don’t break the bank spend wisely and remember celebrate you.

Let me know if there’s anything else that can be a help and also if it is helpful to you let me know also.
